The Cooper City Commission continues its commitment to fiscal stewardship and long-term planning with the approval of a tentative operating millage rate of 5.845 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025–2026. Adopted through Resolution 25-48, during the City Commission Regular Meeting on July 22, 2025, the proposed rate is a slight reduction from the current year’s 5.855 rate and, if ultimately approved, will continue to mark the lowest operating millage since 2011.

Despite ongoing increases in the cost of equipment, materials, and services, the Commission has steadily decreased the millage rate every year since 2021. This continued focus on financial stewardship ensures the City can deliver essential services while reducing the City's tax rate on property owners.

The tentative millage rate is projected to generate approximately $27.67 million in gross ad valorem revenue, or $26.28 million when applying the state’s 95% collection standard.

As part of Florida’s Truth in Millage (TRIM) process, the City has scheduled two public hearings at Cooper City Hall located at 9090 SW 50 Place:

  • First Public Budget Hearing: Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 5:01 PM

  • Second and Final Public Budget Hearing: Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 5:30 PM

Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in shaping the City’s budget and future.
