Come celebrate the 67th Annual Founder's Day: Americana Fest taking place on Saturday, March 14th!
Founder's Day is one of Cooper City's most anticipated traditions. A full day dedicated to celebrating our community, our history, and what makes "Someplace Special" such a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.
This day will feature a full schedule of activities from morning through evening, including longtime favorites and new experiences for residents of all ages. Please read the following information to be prepared for Founder's Day and be up to date on the latest details.
In the morning, the One-Mile Run/Walk and "Hometown Americana" Parade are free to attend. Boy Scouts Troop 118 will host a Pancake Breakfast at the Community Center from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Tickets will be sold at the door. Please continue reading for the menu and pricing.
In the afternoon, the fun and activities shift to Brian Piccolo County Park. There is a $3 entrance fee per vehicle at Brian Piccolo. Once you are inside the park, all events are free and available throughout the day, including the Classic Americana Car Show from 12 PM to 4 PM, field day activities and community performances starting at 3 PM, along with The Jay Valor Band performing live at 6 PM followed by our FIRST-EVER drone show. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the afternoon and evening.

Morning Schedule:
8:30 AM - One-Mile Run/Walk (starts at Dudley Road adjacent to Cooper City High School and heads north on SW 90th Ave. to the Community Center)
8:30 AM - 11:30 AM - Pancake Breakfast at the Community Center (tickets sold at the door)
10:30 AM - Founder's Day Parade - Americana Fest (starts at the Community Center and heads south on SW 90th Ave.)
Afternoon Schedule (all activities will take place at Brian Piccolo County Park):
12 PM - 4 PM: Classic Americana Car Show (Sheridan Street Entrance)
3 PM to 5 PM - Food booths/food trucks open, along with all of the following FUN:

Road Closure Advisory

Please be aware that there will be intermittent road closures along SW 90 Avenue on Saturday, March 14 to allow for Founder's Day activities.
Intermittent closures of SW 90th Avenue will occur from 7 AM to 12 PM
The One-Mile Fun Run/Walk will begin on Dudley Road and head north toward the Community Center at approximately 8:30 AM.
The Founder's Day Parade will travel south from the Community Center to Cooper City High School, starting at 10:30 AM.
Parking will be available at the Community Center, Cooper City Elementary School, and the American Legion Post #321.
T-Shirts on Sale

Celebrate Founder's Day in style with the official t-shirt celebrating this year's theme, Americana Fest! You can get one, or perhaps even both colors.
They are on sale now through the end of Founder's Day and can be purchased at the Community Center and Pool and Tennis Center. T-shirts are $12 each or get 2 for $20.
Pancake Breakfast Benefitting Troop 118
Come with an appetite and join us from 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM at the Community Center. Tickets will be sold at the door and all proceeds benefit Troop 118 supporting camping trips, leadership development, and community service projects.
Hot Dog Eating Competition

Do you have the appetite of a champion? It's time to prove it!
We are looking for 8 hungry competitors to take the stage for our Hot Dog Eating Competition at 5 PM on March 14 at Brian Piccolo Park.
The Challenge
Competitors will have 7 minutes to eat a maximum of 10 hot dogs (including the buns). The competitor who finishes all 10 first, or eats the most within 7 minutes, will take the crown.
Age Requirement & Waiver
Participants must be 18 years of age or older and will be required to sign a waiver the day of the event.
Spots are limited to just 8 competitors, so sign up before all spots are taken!
