On Friday, March 13, 2026, the City of Cooper City proudly joins the Grant Professionals Association in celebrating International Grant Professionals Day. This annual observance recognizes the vital contributions of administrators, consultants, and developers who bridge the gap between community needs and the funding required to address them.
In Cooper City, these efforts are spearheaded by Grants Administrator Renee Wilson. Managing the entire grant lifecycle, from initial application to final closeout, Renee ensures the city remains in compliance with all grantor agencies. Her work has successfully unlocked diverse funding streams, including federal, state, and county resources.
Recently, the City has secured over $21.8 million in funding dedicated to:
Infrastructure: roadway and traffic safety improvements.
Utility and Resiliency: water, sewer, wastewater, and environmental resiliency improvements.
Community Spaces: parks, playgrounds, and sports field renovations.
"Grant funding expands what we are able to accomplish for our community," said City Manager Alex Rey. "Renee’s expertise and dedication play a critical role in supporting projects across Cooper City, helping to turn opportunities into results for our residents and improve their quality of life.”
