City Seal Design Contest information with a circular emblem with the word "Seal" inside

The City of Cooper City invites residents to help shape a symbol that will reflect the heart of the community, with the launch of a new City Seal Design Contest.

For many municipalities, a city seal serves as a meaningful representation of identity, history, and shared values. In Cooper City’s case, the current Seal is simple, featuring a basic circular design with minimal text and no imagery or defining elements. While the Seal has served its purpose, it does not fully capture what makes Cooper City “Someplace Special.”

This contest is an opportunity to change that - together.

Rather than commissioning a design by a professional firm from the start, the City is taking a community-first approach by opening the process to the people who know Cooper City best: its residents. Through this initiative, participants are invited to contribute ideas and designs that reflect the character, pride, and spirit of the community.

Through this civic engagement, the goal is to provide residents with a meaningful opportunity to help define a symbol that represents them. The City is striving to gather creative concepts and community-driven ideas that can inform the development of a final City Seal.

Participation is entirely voluntary, and the contest is designed to celebrate creativity. Submissions may ultimately serve as inspiration for a refined final design, ensuring that the finished seal reflects both artistic quality and community input.

Our city seal should not just be a mark on official documents, it should tell a story. It should represent the families, neighborhoods, traditions, and shared experiences that define Cooper City. By opening this process to residents, the City is placing that story in the hands of the community.
