The City of Cooper City is reminding residents of important requirements related to the storage of boats, recreational vehicles (RVs), and certain commercial vehicles on residential properties.
Under City Code Section 25-10, certain vehicles must be registered with the City when they are stored in a way that makes them visible above a six-foot privacy fence. This requirement helps ensure that vehicles are properly maintained, meet height limitations, and remain in compliance with City standards designed to preserve neighborhood safety and appearance.
This applies to boats, RVs, and certain commercial vehicles that are kept on residential property and extend beyond the height of a six-foot fence, even if they are otherwise permitted to be stored on-site.
To complete the online registration process, residents will need to provide:
Current state registration for the vehicle or boat
The address where the vehicle is stored
An initial registration fee of $50 applies, and registrations must be renewed annually based on the property owner’s birth date.
Residents are encouraged to review their property and complete registration online. New registrants will need to create an online account. The City’s Code Compliance team is available to assist and answer any questions to help make the process as simple as possible.
This effort is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to working alongside residents to maintain Cooper City’s high quality of life while ensuring fair and consistent application of City Code.
