Tin Cup Sports Bar & Grill has long been a valued part of the Cooper City community, serving as a gathering place for residents, families, and local organizations. As the business works through ongoing kitchen renovations, the City of Cooper City is actively working alongside the ownership to help them continue operating safely and as efficiently as possible.
Please note, this project is not related to the postponed Land Use Plan Amendment (LUPA) application, regarding the Cooper Colony Golf Course, which had been submitted to the City’s Development Review Committee (DRC). For more information on the LUPA application, please visit www.CooperCity.gov/GolfCourseApplication.
What is Happening
Tin Cup is currently undergoing renovations to its kitchen, including the replacement of its hood system. This type of work is critical to maintaining a safe kitchen environment, helping to reduce fire risks and ensure proper ventilation.
However, construction began before all required permits were obtained and approved. Because of this, the project is now proceeding through an “after-the-fact” permitting process, which requires detailed review to ensure all work meets safety standards and building codes.
What the City Is Doing
The City has made this project a priority and is taking several steps to assist Tin Cup in moving forward. Currently, the City is working on the Plan Review for the Kitchen Alteration Permit.
Temporary Operations
To help minimize disruption, Tin Cup is taking the appropriate steps to operate a temporary outdoor kitchen, while the kitchen renovations are completed.
Commitment to Safety and Support
While the City is committed to helping Tin Cup continue serving the community, all work must comply with the Florida Building Code and applicable fire safety regulations. These requirements are in place to protect public health, safety, and property.
At the same time, City staff are working diligently to:
Provide clear guidance
Minimize downtime for the business
Support a timely reopening of the kitchen
