Cooper City has released its 2025 Water Quality Report, providing residents with a detailed overview of the City's drinking water quality and reaffirming its commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality water to the community.

The annual Consumer Confidence Report demonstrates that Cooper City's drinking water continues to meet or exceed all federal and state regulatory standards established to protect public health.

"Providing clean, dependable drinking water remains one of the most important services we deliver to our residents," said Mayor James Curran. "The 2025 Water Quality Report reflects not only the quality of our water, but also the City's continued investment in the infrastructure and maintenance programs that ensure reliable service for years to come."

Throughout 2025, the Cooper City Utilities Department completed several significant projects designed to strengthen the City's water and wastewater systems while maintaining exceptional water quality.

"As part of our commitment to operational excellence, we completed several proactive improvements to our utility infrastructure this year," said Utilities Director Akin Ozaydin. "From replacing critical membrane filtration equipment at our water treatment facility to upgrading nearly 12,000 water meters with advanced smart technology, every project focused on enhancing system performance and ensuring the highest quality drinking water for our residents."

Among the year's accomplishments, the Utilities Department replaced 11,752 water meters with advanced Sensus AMI Smart Meters, improving meter accuracy, system monitoring capabilities, and water-use data collection. The City also continued upgrades to its water treatment facility through the replacement of membrane filtration equipment, a key component in removing microscopic particles and maintaining high-quality drinking water.

To further support water quality throughout the distribution system, the city conducted free chlorination as part of its preventative maintenance program, helping maintain disinfectant effectiveness and optimize water quality across the system.

On the wastewater side, Cooper City completed the rehabilitation of 14,068 linear feet of sewer lines through its ongoing infrastructure renewal program. The improvements help extend the lifespan of aging pipelines while reducing the potential for leaks, infiltration, and service disruptions.

Behind the scenes, Utilities Department staff continuously monitor water quality, maintain critical infrastructure, and ensure compliance with all state and federal drinking water regulations.

"These investments reflect our commitment to protecting public health, preserving our environment, and maintaining the quality of life our residents expect," added Mayor Curran. "I am grateful for the dedication of our Utilities Department employees, whose hard work makes these achievements possible."
