🚧 Wastewater infrastructure improvement set to start in Cooper Village, while nearing completion in Timberlake!
📍Cooper Village: Rehabilitation of Lift Station No. 6 at 5301 SW 103 Avenue begins Monday, October 19, to replace aging equipment and improve wastewater reliability. A temporary road closure along SW 53 Street, at SW 103 Avenue, will require some neighboring residents to use SW 53 Court to access SW 53 Street. Please review the accompanying map for the work zone and alternate route.
📍Timberlake: Lift Station No. 53 rehabilitation is nearing completion, with the roadway between 5108 and 5112 SW 87 Avenue expected to reopen by Friday, October 16.

💧 What does a lift station do? It uses pumps to move wastewater from homes and businesses through the sewer system toward treatment when gravity alone isn’t enough. Keeping these stations in good condition helps prevent backups and service disruptions.
Built in the 1970s, Lift Station No. 53 is among the oldest in Cooper City’s wastewater system. Aging equipment and deteriorating components have increased its maintenance needs. This rehabilitation will replace pumps and electrical controls and restore structural and mechanical components.

Paver installation is complete along the north side of the complex, while work continues on the east side. This improvement is providing additional parking for those enjoying the fields and facility.

The City Commission will meet this evening, August 25, and Ordinance 26-16 regarding the parking of RVs and boats on residential property will be presented for First Reading.
The proposed ordinance would amend Section 25-10 of the City Code and includes:
- Eliminating the registration requirement for RVs and boats
- Updating regulations related to the parking, use, maintenance and height of RVs and boats on residential property
- Incorporating changes following the City Commission’s previous discussion and direction on the regulations

Crews began milling SW 92nd Terrace on August 19, marking the latest progress in the City’s ongoing road milling and resurfacing project.
With work already completed along several nearby streets, crews are continuing to move through the neighborhood to improve pavement conditions and extend the life of our local roadways.
This project is supported by $536,396 in Broward County Transportation Surtax funding and is expected to continue through fall 2026.
We appreciate the patience of residents as crews work their way through the neighborhood.

PROJECT UNDERWAY! 📢
The Water Service Line Replacement Project, within Flamingo Townhomes Phase 5, got started today, August 17. Residents in the project area have been notified of the work being conducted in their community. This capital improvement project will enhance vital infrastructure, replacing aging water service lines to strengthen the reliability of our water system and reduce the potential for leaks and unexpected service disruptions.
