We are proud to announce the award of a $450,000 grant through the Broward County Resilient Broward Grant Program to support the SW 49 Street Culvert Replacement Project.
On Tuesday, March 10, Broward County Commissioner Steve Geller presented a celebratory check to the City Commission, recognizing the City’s success in securing funding for this important infrastructure project. With this awarded money, the City has now secured more than $2.3 million for the culvert replacement project. These grant dollars are specifically intended to support resiliency projects, such as a culvert replacement.
The funding now includes:
💰 $1.3 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
💰$575,000 from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
💰$450,000 from the Broward County Resilient Broward Grant Program
This multi-agency funding strategy helps strengthen our infrastructure while reducing the financial impact on residents.

ROAD CLOSURE REMINDER: Construction is set to start on the existing culvert located at SW 49th Street, between Natalie's Cove Road & SW 120 Avenue, TUESDAY, MARCH 10.
Throughout the entirety of the project, which is heavily supported by grant funding, this section of SW 49th Street will not be accessible to vehicles or pedestrians between Natalie's Cove Road and SW 120th Avenue. As a result, residents who live on the west side of the project will need to use an alternate route, especially when commuting to and from Griffin Elementary School and Bill Lips Sports Complex.
